Starting at the Moot Hall in Keswick our mountain bikes are used to cycle to the foot of Skiddaw at Millbeck. You ascend Skiddaw and then descend to Latrigg carpark where you are reuntied with your mountain bike. From here you'll enjoy a fantastic downhill route towards the A66 before cycling through St Johns in the Vale towards Helvellyn just above Thirlmere. From Thirlspot you ascend Helvellyn and then descend to Dunmail Raise Pass on the A591 where again you will find your bikes. You bike journey descends through Grasmere and over the steep Red Bank and traversing into Great Langdale above Elterwater. Once at the head of Great Langdale by the Old Dungeon Ghyll you have your last mountain section to complete. Ascending Rosset Ghyll via Mickleden you quickly reach Angle Tarn and Esk Hause before traversing towards Scafell Pike past Great End, Broad Crag and Ill Crag. To complete the route you descend into Seathwaite, Borrowdale via the well known 'Coridor' Route. Once at Seathwaite you again have your mountain bikes available to tackle the last section along the River Derwent through the very scenic Borrowdale and then past Derwent Water before arriving back in Keswick at the Moot Hall. |
